My projects

Here are the details of some of my projects. If you would like copies of any of these books, for purchase or for review, please get in touch.

I am hugely Peter-McCleavey_1024x1024proud to have directed the marketing and delivered the launch events for Peter McLeavey: The Life and Times of a New Zealand Art Dealer by Jill Trevelyan for Te Papa Press. This book was awarded the supreme Book of the Year prize at the 2014 New Zealand National Book Awards.

IMG_3835I edited, typeset and marketed The Muddy Olympians by Simon and Jonathan Kennett – the story of the only six Kiwis ever to represent NZ at Olympic mountain biking (five of whom are women).

I publicised A Happy Feat: Voyage to the End of Our Far South, in which Gareth Morgan takes a trip from Bluff to Antarctica and back again, learning what Aotearoa stands to lose if we don’t protect our far south.

ShameJoy front cvr 7.6.14I ran the publicity for ShameJoy, a book of darkly comic short stories by Julie Hill. ShameJoy is the first title from new Wellington publishing house Giant Sparrow Press, which publishes contemporary literary fiction.

Shackleton BearI am proud to be a friend of Shackleton Bear, whose first epic Antarctic adventure is chronicled in his book, Shackleton Bear Goes South, which I helped publicise. Look out for Shackleton Bear and his friend John McCrystal as they travel around NZ schools, telling tales of ice, whales, and amorous seals.

IMG_3827I did the marketing, publicity and launch for debut Kiwi author Shalesh Vasan’s Sam Pyar, illustrated by Duncan West. Really good kids’ books can be hard to find, but this is one of them.

IMG_3834I edited, typeset and marketed Eat Your Words: Wellington Cafe Poems, the winning entries from a cafe poetry competition run as part of the Wellington On A Plate festival. I also managed the print and book design processes, and advised the competition managers on sales and launch.

Children-of-Arkadia-Front-Cover-webI arranged the NZ sales and did the NZ publicity for Children of Arkadia by M. Darusha Wehm from Bundoran Press. Bundoran Press is a Canadian speculative fiction publisher and Children of Arkadia is published in print and ebook internationally. Wehm is a Kiwi-Canadian author based in Wellington.

SecondBlackDogCottagecoverI worked on the launch and publicity for The Second Black Dog Cottage Cookbook by Adie McClelland, full to the brim of tasty Greek-Asian fusion recipes. Excerpts are available, so get in touch if you’d like a sneaky preview of some of Adie’s secrets.

IMG_3833I edited and typeset the last three issues of Booknotes, the magazine of the NZ Book Council, which is now published online as Booknotes Unbound.
