Creative Commons Aotearoa New Zealand
I am the Communications Lead at Creative Commons Aotearoa New Zealand. We are the kaitiaki of the Kiwi Creative Commons licences that enable the voluntary sharing of copyright material in Aotearoa.
Paper Road Press
I am a member of the publishing advisory board of Paper Road Press, a boutique publisher of books from beyond the beaten track, run by Marie Hodgkinson. I also manage publicity and advise on marketing.
I am a book reviewer and arts journalist for BooksellersNZ, the professional trade association of booksellers in Aotearoa. You can read some of my book reviews and writers’ festival reviews here, and some of my feature articles here.
I have created the ebook marketing strategy for Escalator Press, a publishing imprint set up by the Whitireia Creative Writing Programme and aided by the Whitireia Publishing Programme (of which I am a proud graduate).
New Zealand Society of Authors
I have been elected to the committee of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Society of Authors.
Teaching and public speaking
I am the Sales, Marketing and Publicity Tutor for the Whitireia Publishing Programme. I also give talks to various different audiences on topics ranging from editing to copyright to publicity. Please contact me if you would like me to speak at your event.
NZ Book Reviewing Association
One idea I am investigating is to create a national association of book reviewers in Aotearoa. I am currently in the phase of gathering ideas and advice as to how this might work, so if you have any thoughts, please do get in touch.
Freelance editing and typesetting
From time to time I do various pieces of editing and typesetting work, which I really enjoy. For example, at the moment I am editing various journal articles for a lecturer at Massey University. If you have an enquiry about work of this nature, please get in touch.
